Shobana Jevasingh’s TooMortal coming to Worcester
26 Apr 2012
The full programme for the London 2012 Festival is announced today with new commissions for the West Midlands including Shobana Jeyasingh Dance‘s new work for churches, TooMortal, which is to be performend in Worcester’s St Swithun’s Church in July.
Inspired by their dramatic architecture, Jeyasingh’s striking choreography contrasts and complements the rhythms and shapes of these historic buildings. TooMortal offers surprising new perspectives, with the dancers travelling over the pews on a powerful and mesmerising journey.
TooMortal is presented in Worcester by Dance Umbrella and Dancefest as part of the London 2012 Festival. St Swithun’s Church is being used by kind permission of The Churches Conservation Trust.
