We Dance festival coming to mac Birmingham

We Dance is one of Dancing for the Games’ most exciting and uplifting projects culminates in a mini festival on the weekend of 14 and 15 July at mac.

Mencap, Birmingham Royal Ballet, mac birmingham, Fox Hollies school and performing arts college and Midland Mencap have combined forces to present We Dance. The two-day festival at mac birmingham features performances, fun workshops for people with a learning disability, an exhibition including new dance for films and more.

The Festival includes an evening of dance featuring Freefall, Birmingham Royal Ballet and Fox Hollies’ celebrated dance company of people with a learning disability, and Chitraleka, a company that focuses on classical South Indian dance and local community groups. The evening show includes the first ever performance of Freefall’s new Olympic-themed dance, which was specially commissioned by learning disability charity Mencap.

And if you want more chances to see Freefall’s new dance performance; well the popular learning disability dance company will be performing its new Olympic-themed dance in front of the BBC Big Screens in Birmingham and Coventry on the August bank holiday weekend, so make a note in your diary:

– Big Screen Birmingham, Sunday 26 August at 1pm and 3pm
