About
Dancing for the Games aims to get the people of the West Midlands dancing to celebrate London 2012. From experts to complete beginners, Dancing for the Games gives everyone the chance to try something different, have fun and pick up new skills along the way!
Almost 30 organisations are leading a wide range of dance projects around the region in the run up to the Games, from World of Dance in Stoke-on-Trent to Moving Earth in Birmingham and the Black Country. You can find out more about all of our projects in the pink toolbar on the right-hand side of this page.
There are plenty of opportunities to get involved in these projects, such as attending dance groups, taking part in performances, learning steps at home through the Breathe the Beat website, or simply sitting back and watching the professionals in action.

In 2012 itself there will be a series of big events and performances. 12 Moves has already confirmed that its finale event will combine video and live performance in Worcester city centre on 24 March 2012 and hip hop project HR1 will host a torch lit performance at Castle Green in Hereford on 30 June 2012.
Much more is still to be confirmed – please keep checking back on our News and Events pages for more exciting updates.
Dancing for the Games is just one of the programmes taking place in the West Midlands because of London 2012. Visit www.wmfor2012.com to find out more.
