Othello
Birmingham Opera Company is well known for performing operas in unusual settings with large community casts. Their productions are never the traditional type of opera that springs to mind, so it’s no surprise that in their version of Othello they wanted to add dance into the mix.
This version of Othello featured street dancing, morris dancers and bhangra.
Othello was shown on BBC2 in February 2011 together with a behind the scenes documentary with their director Graham Vick.
